New Delhi resident K1 applicant. Medical in New Delhi possible?

Hi all

My fiance is based in New Delhi. We just got our Noa2 and I realized reading these forums that the interview will happen in Mumbai for all K1 applicants. Can someone clarify if the medical also has to be done in Mumbai or can be done in Delhi ? ( the Mumbai embassy list of approved facilities doesn't have any facilities listed in Delhi)

Thanks!

The medical needs to be done by one of those on the approved list if they are all in Mumbai then the medical needs to be done there I am afraid.

Thanks!   Well one more inconvenience is this long journey. What a mess. No my fiance (and our 5 month old daughter) have to make 2 potential trips to Mumbai.

Does anyone know if biometrics are possible in Delhi?

NO, the medical for K1 does not have to be done in Mumbai. If you are in or near Delhi, you CAN have your medical done at the Max, which I believe is still on the list of approved hospitals in Delhi (maybe the only there):

You can also do biometrics in Delhi at the VAC.

I'd recommend reading & following this thread, where there has been a lot of recent activity on K1s through Mumbai:

Thanks!! I have been following that thread mostly, but wasn't clear on the locations for the medical. Maybe I wasn't following it close enough!  I appreciate your answer. It's just so overwhelming .

I assume you are basing this on your recent personal experience . Congratulations BTW! Hope you guys are together now!

Yes, Amit did his medical at the Max in early March for his interview in Mumbai and had no problems. Of course, it never hurts to email US Travel Docs and confirm with them that medical at Max is acceptable for K1 in interview in Mumbai, if you want to be 110% sure that something hasn't changed.

He arrived here on Thursday and we're getting married on Saturday. It's nice that everything is finally coming together after so long. :) Best wishes for you guys going forward also.

Hi all, we're still waiting for NO2 to come hopefully in March. I just wanted to get my head wrapped around the next process.

My fiancé lives closer to Delhi, so I'm thinking it will be better to have it there for the medical. And maybe biometrics? What are the time requirements before the interview to do both of these? I just saw the wording in bold for the Mumbai site of lists of approved paneled physicians, that the medical exam has to be at least 7 days before the interview, and it's valid for a year? So I am guessing as soon as he gets the instructions in the mail and an appointment is booked? I also read something where people said they can be emailed a copy of the appointment letter?  https://in.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/71/panel-physician-list-rates-09282018.pdf?_ga=2.112670023.25983880.1544573679-2056924936.1544573679 Thanks.
