No GC Yet, So Renewing EAD/AP Card

I filed for my AOS a year ago (May 15, 2018), got my EAD/AP card on September 25, 2018, but still have not had any updates for my Green Card. I called the USCIS today and they just told me that it's still being processed. Upon further research, it seems I need to renew my EAD/AP card (at least 120 days before it expires) to be safe, just in case I don't receive my Green Card before the expiration date. Luckily, I found all this information out today, 127 days before it expires!!!

Anyway, I plan on submitting all the documents to renew it tomorrow. I just wanted to make sure that these are all the things I need to submit to renew my EAD/AP card (please let me know if I am missing something):

- EAD Cover Letter

- G-1145 Form for E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

- I-765 - Application for Employment Authorization

- 2 passport photos

- Copy of I-94 Arrival/Departure record

- Copy of current Employment Authorization Document Card (front and back)

- Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485

- Copy of passport biographical details page

- Photocopy of "tear-off" portion sheet provided with original EAD (the page with the 3 bar codes on it) - WHAT IF I LOST THIS? DO I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO INCLUDE THIS?

- AP Cover Letter

- G-1145 Form for E-notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

- I-131 - Application for Travel Document (Advanced Parole)

- Supplemental page for Part 7, on the I-131

- 2 passport photos

- Copy of current Employment Authorization Document (front and back)

- Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action for the I-485

- Copy of K-1 Visa

- Copy of passport biographical details page

Thanks!

Nevermind, I found my tear-off sheet with the 3 barcodes (thank god I was smart enough not to throw it away!!!). I found this other checklist from an older thread here on VJ. I will probably just include all the other documents listed here in my packet, just in case. Please see my question on one of the items below, too.....

  • EAD Cover Letter
  • G-1145
  • Original i-765
  • 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back)
  • Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485
  • Photocopy of i-797c for my previous i-765 submission
  • Photocopy of i-797c biometrics appointment notice
  • Photocopy of current EAD card (front and back)
  • Photocopy of Potential Interview Waiver Notice - WHAT IS THIS? I DON'T REMEMBER EVER HAVING THIS?
  • Photocopy of i-94 (front and back)
  • AP Cover Letter
  • G-1145
  • Original i-131
  • 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back)
  • Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485
  • Photocopy of i-797c for my previous i-131 submission
  • Photocopy of i-797c biometrics appointment notice
  • Photocopy of current EAD card (front and back)
  • Photocopy of K1 Visa
  • Supplement sheet explaining reasoning for AP request

I'll then send all the documents to this address:

USCIS Chicago Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service:

USCIS
P.O. Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: FBAS
131 South Dearborn-3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Let me know if I'm getting this correctly! As usual, I'm super paranoid when it comes to my immigration, so your guidance and reassurance would help tons!! Thank you, VJ Community. :) <3

Do you time travel? Sept 25, 2018 has not yet passed.

Haha I clearly meant 2017 - forgive my human error, and thank you so very much for your extremely helpful response :wow:

I don't have an answer for you but so glad you asked this cause I have a feeling we will end up going through the same step(s). We submitted our documentation just this April and the timeline says roughly 5 months (around September) and now I know to keep an eye on this around next spring 2019 for my wife. "Just in case". It's a shame the government doesn't keep people up-to-speed on these things and we are forced to figure it out on our own.

Good luck, hope you have no issues.

Yes you are so right! I would have never thought to renew my EAD/AP and just think I will be safe until I get my GC! Good thing I researched on VJ and was able to send an application for renewal just in time... Now I'm hoping I actually get a renewal before my current combo card expires!!! It's hard to tell with USCIS as they are sooooooo sloooow
