Hi all,

We are waiting for our NOA2 but given my current job situation, there is a big chance I may be transferred to a different country for a while for my current job. The address we put on our petition will no longer be used. Is there any way I (foreign beneficiary) can request a change of address before the NOA2 comes through?

Thanks!

What country are you from? That can make a difference as some embassies in some countries don't send anything to the beneficiary period. Also are you going to be gone during the entire process or when NOA2 comes you plan on returning back home?

I am currently living abroad in a different EU country but there is a chance I will move back to Belgium. My current address on the petition is my address abroad. The plan is to move back to Belgium without returning here.

Where do you expect to have your interview?  Chances are they will send to the embassy/consulate covering your current residence

YMMV

I don't mind if the interview is here. The thing I am worried about is that they would send the package of forms to my current address and not my future address when I move. Is there any way I can fix that?

What country other than Belgium?  A majority do not send any packages via post but via email

Another country in the EU. I would like to know if I can do a change of address during the application process. The country I am in only sends postal packages. Belgium does too

There is no formal way to do this.

this is super fun to do. so if you get an RFE, and i pray you don't, your petitioner can send a letter requesting this change, in addition to whatever documents USCIS requests.

otherwise, when you are approved and your petition is forwarded from USCIS to NVC, you will need to harass NVC officers(or you can just start calling 2 weeks after), for an NVC case number and an Invoice number.

theorectically, you can inform the officer of the change of address and preferred embassy when the petition reaches NVC, but usually, it's going to take until NVC actually creates an NVC case from the USCIS petition.

i am not aware of any other methods. i don't think other methods exist. USCIS is more interested in the petitioner than the beneficiary. NVC does the vice versa.

@metalmikecfh hi sweetheart! if you can just refer to my response above this post, it should be able to answer your question. also, pardon the VJers, specific terms are really important and to truly help, we cannot just assume you did a terminology error.
