Immigrant spouses vs. American Spouses

I know precisely ONE Born-again Christian currently living in Mumbai who fits that description. Three others (all brothers) have EUROPEAN (two German, one Liechstensteinese) non-desi wives. Unfortunately, this is a grand total of FOUR born-again (

Other examples of desi husband (some Hindu, one Sikh, others Catholic) with North American wife ALL involve Catholic wives. As these are all academics within my dad's circle, their spirituality can at best be considered dubious.

The basic point could be stated this way: as a Born-again Christian, my choices (amongst American citizens) would be limited to ex-FOB's and non-desis.

Read Stina's post again--she stated specifically that her reason for marrying Suj was COMMON FAITH (both are Born-again Christians).

So, it was YOU who missed, by a huge margin!

I don't necesarry beleive in that sentence. Nowadays people are doing all kind of things in the name of religion, We are both Catholics, but my wife is more conservative than I am. I had some great friends, who were Hindu, Muslim, and a few years ago while i was working In Navi mumbai we get along so well, we were like brother and sister, but at the time I wasn't looking at marriage, settling down, Even though I wasn't Hindu, Aunty Ji was always so sweet to me, she was like a mother and always made me feel like I was at home. She went on to work in Australia and we just lost touch with each other. Faith has a lot to do with it, God has a plan for everybody, and at the time if it was part of God's plan we would have been past being just friends.

I've been to Hindu temple, Mosque, so many different religious functions, My basic phylosophy we are all one Race, Human, Man creates religion to Divide people, one group claiming they are better than others, Even with Christianity, You will have Pentacostal, Baptist, 7th Day Adventist, Ladder Day Saint, Catholics. not even counting countless other religious group, Budhist, Hinduism, Jewish and other, Each one having some differences in their teachings.

When Jesus was about to ascend, He talk to them and to Peter, now you are going to be a Fish Man, to bring them the good word of GOD.

Having been in India, I have learned so much about the Hindu, where you can actually see lot of similarities, and at the same time you will see how small or major the differences are depending on how you feel about RELIGION PER SAY.

In Christianity you have the Saints, the Apostle

In Hindu they have their gods, Shiva, Kali, Garnesha and so on

But with all these gods, everybody knows there's the SUPREME which is ABOVE all those gods.

So if you look at it in a Religion sake, Someone who was born deep into the Jungle, an Aborigene, who has never met the western world, therefore doesn't know anything about Jesus, but venerate God in their own ways. Are all these people, and their ancestors that came before them DOOMED to HELL???????? God is a God of LOVE, COMPASSION and MERCY, He created mankind at his image, as such are those people from the forest, people who are different than us, have a different kinda of blood, lung, breath, and don't Die.

I've read some of it and don't want to read anymore. I think it's sick for these men to go looking for some young woman in a deprived county to bring back to US and marry. Maybe I should of read further, but didn't care to see anymore sterotyping.
