Hello and good evening to everybody.

I have a K-1 interview on the 31st of May, 2018, for my fiancée. I was gathering everything today (all of the documents) and I thought I was done but I just realized something. I submitted the DS-160, instead of her. Do we need to fill out a new DS-160 and pick a new interview date now? I am very disappointed and disgusted by myself because I just realized, I am not allowed to submit it, only the beneficiary is. If this type of question has been asked before, I sincerely apologize.

Any help or advice will be truly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

The beneficiary fills out the ds-160. No worries though, your fiancé can just fill out a new one and take the printed copy to the embassy. The newer one will be the valid one. You can do ds-160 over and over no worries. No need to change interview date or anything.

Will it be okay that my interview confirmation page has the old DS-160 number on it?

It should be fine. Most people fill out ds-160 even before getting an interview date. Anyways, ds-160 is just a formality for k1 applicants. She’ll be fine. But do fill out a new one because they need the information on it to match the applicant.

Okay, so I will fill out a new DS-160 and have her sign/submit it. Then, she can just keep both confirmation pages (the old and the new one) and take it to the interview with her.

I appreciate your input. ANY input is gladly appreciated. ^_^

Sure that sounds good. If they ask have her say you guys made a mistake and filled out a new one. Make sure she fills it out with all of her information this time and not yours. 😉

I doubt they’ll say anything.

I am sorry, I probably didn't explain it well! I filled it out with her information but, I submitted it with my computer, if that makes any sense?

Ohhhhhh, nah that doesn’t matter. You don’t need a new one then. I thought you filled out with your own information. As long as the information is correct and truthful, it doesn’t matter.

Everything is accurate and it is all about her, hehe. I filled it out and submitted but, some people told me that is a big no-no, so that worried me a bit. They said that it is fine that I filled it out but, she was supposed to submit it (like on her own computer).

That honestly does not matter. They’re not gonna look into that.

People really scared me on this manner because they made it sound like it was a detrimental mistake I made and that they may reject my fiancée's K-1 visa. You made me feel much better, LOL!

I filled out my parents' DS160s (for B2 visas) while being on the phone with them. They don't care about IP addresses or what computer it comes from.

Same here. My mom is elderly and she would go nuts if she has to fill out a form in English. I did it on her behalf with her information, etc. Always checking it with her. She got her tourist visa no problem.
