Hello there,

 

I was going to ask if apply online are more faster than mail for naturalization..?? If if there's anybody here applied Forth Smith Field office? Coz I'm planning to send mine online before the end of this month..

Your application will move 1 to 2 weeks faster with submission online.  If you send in a paper copy, the office has to manually scan in all your documents before you get into the queue.  If you send in your documents online, this step does not have to happen, but you have to make sure you have all original documents with you at your interview.

 

If you have all your documents scanned electronically, so that you can upload them easily yourself, then go for online submission.  If you have lots of paper documents that are NOT scanned, then submit a paper application.

 

As in with ALL paper submissions, make SURE you have a photocopy of all paperwork you submit, and always carry a copy of your paperwork with you to any interviews.

I personally recommend filing online if you are eligible to....just for the ease of it, and sometimes, yes, the speed.  There is also the added benefit of not having to worry about the mail getting delayed as you can download appointment letters, not having to pay postal fees, instant submission/receipt of the application, and being able to respond to any RFEs online much quicker than by mail.

 

The speed of processing depends largely on how straightforward your case is, as well as how quickly your field office is/any backlog.

My timeline is below in red.

 

For me, it moved quickly in that it took 96 days between the date of filing and the date of my oath ceremony.   Which surprised me, since my case was NOT straightforward.  Your mileage may vary as noted above.

Couldn't figure how to go back to your replies guys since I'm not in here in so long but I have to come might get some info regarding these matters. Actually I wanted to do a filling online but I was wonder if every like divorce decree that I have to upload every pages coz I did more than 3 and it won't let me if it's it Ok to upload in the front and I will bring them all original by the interview as it said also in filing online am I right?

Are you filing under the 3 or 5 year rule?  If under the 5 year rule, no evidence of prior divorce is needed.

Actually been here in United States 8 years now.. what documents do I really need to submit to making sure i got it all and no problem with my online application.

Again I will ask if you are filing under the 3 year marriage rule, or the 5 year residency rule?   Documents required is dependent on which category you are applying under.

If you have been a permanent resident GC holder for 5 years, you do not need to submit evidence of previous divorce.  Your marital status is relevant only if filing under the 3-year rule.

Oh ok, but what evidence mostly they really needed??  I only do send all evidence I have to making sure no problem but when u told me I don't have to that would be great.

Read the instructions for the N400 it will tell you what is needed there, depending on your personal circumstances.  As you go through the online application it will also prompt you as to what evidence needs to be submitted based on how you answer certain questions.

 

If you are eligible for filing under the 5-year residency rule, you will need to upload a copy of the front and back of your GC.  If you have any criminal history, you will need to upload copies of court-certified depositions.

I already read it and also seen what evidence on my USCIS only account and I seen one is divorce decree well I really don't have to..

If the account is prompting you to upload the divorce decree, then it is because you are filing under the 3-year marriage eligibility rule, and you are not eligible for filing under the 5-year residency rule as you originally thought.

 

An easy way to determine which rule you are eligible to apply under, is to look at the date of issue on your green card.  What is the date?  If you are NOT eligible for the 5 year rule and must file under the 3 year rule, then yes, you are required to submit evidence of your marital status.

They asked us to provide it under 5 year rule
