Hello,

I am eagerly waiting to send off my packet 3 email to Montreal. I don’t know if they have our petition yet (has been 6 business days since our email from NVC saying it had been sent off) so I tried calling the general line this morning. The lady had absolutely no clue what I was talking about lol. She gave me the generic Montreal email to inquire and I already know no one will be answering me. Does anyone know of a number other than the general one I can call, or someone to ask for to find out if my petition is there yet? Thank you so much in advance.

I don't think there is any way to get in touch with Montreal directly. My passport and immigrant visa was lost and Canada Post gave me a number that took me in circles. I went through various methods of trying to get in touch with anybody. I was told to send a message through email which they check about once a week. Fortunately my passport arrived which nobody through Canada Post could explain how. My back up plan was to go through a congressional inquiry as they have a specific number of days they must respond to that. Hope you or others have better luck than I did.

Oh wow. Sounds like fun. Maybe I’ll just send packet 3 in a week and hope for the best.

got my packet 3 exactly 2weeks from the nvc website shows "ready" then packet 4 in just a day..

you can email them but they always send automatic reply.

you'll be fine :) i know someone who haven't received packet3 and it's been a week since the nvc site shows "ready" or you can proactively sent the packet 3 checklist and ds160 and passport copy. take the risk or wait :)

Relax.  You can only contact them via email or online form (found on the US embassy Ottawa website).  Does your CEAC status say ready?  If so wait a week and send the packet 3.  They may respond with telling you to wait.  Wait a few more days (3 or 4) and resend.

I’m not sure what CEAC status is?

Never mind I figured that one out. So it says “no status” but “case created” as well. It also says “please contact the U.S. consular office you believe is responsible for processing your visa application”. Ugh.
