Hey all!

so I have my oath next month and my spouse might have to go outside the country for work!

would it be ok if I just go myself without him?

we prefer not to  reschedule it! Because we are traveling 2 weeks after the oath!

thank you all for your  suggestions!

Unlike the interview, oath is all about you, your spouse doesn’t need to be with you.

Yeah, as arken just said, having your spouse in attendence is nice, but in no way required.  USCIS couldn't care less, one way or another.  I wouldn't delay for that reason if it was me.  If circumstances permit, then absolutely, but work is pretty important and nobody will judge you simply because your spouse couldn't be there.

I, personally, would be sad if my husband couldn't attend my oath ceremony - it's kind of a big deal, and I'd want to have the person I love there to see it. However, sometimes things don't work out the way we would have wanted, and if it turned out he couldn't come, I wouldn't change the appointment. Who knows how long it would take to get another date?
