K1 Green Card (possible divorce after 9 years)

Hello Everyone

 

Quick question, and please stay with the Green Card part, I am not looking for answers about N400 or Citizenship.

I have been married for 9 years, living in US for 9 years, and I have my Permanent Green Card for 9 years, .  Unfortunately, my marriage is not going very well for a few years now and we both are thinking about divorce.

Question, after reviewing the i-90 form, that form does not ask me anything about my marriage or spouse.  It just asks basic questions about me.

Question:

1. If i got divorce, can I still renew my green card 6 months prior it expires? (expires in 2021) or because of my divorce, I wont be able to get it renew?

Yes you can renew your 10 year green card if you are divorced. Once you got the ten year card you no longer have to include the marriage details on the form.

Your LPR status is not dependent on your marriage. Just fill out the form, pay the fee, and wait. You'll be fine.
