Hello everyone,

My fiancee will arrive here next week and I'm trying to start putting the documents together for the 2nd leg of our journey :) . Our visa was approved very quickly as you can see. Do I basically have to submit the same documents over again so soon? I'm not complaining but it's only been 2 months and nothing has changed since the end of february when I sent the package to her. :P I filed I-134 so I guess I still have to do the I-864 because I notice it says you need 3 years of tax returns and I only sent them 1. Anyway, I took a couple weeks off from this site to recuperate, and now I'm ready to dive back in again. I look forward to learning from your experiences and I appreciate any input and/or help...

7/05.........Rebooked for December after realizing vacation was in the middle of rhamadan

12/05.......Spent 10 days in Bogor and Bali and got engaged

1/14/06....Mailed I-129F Package to VSC via FEDEX(Day1)

1/17/06....Package picked up at FEDEX depot and signed for by G.MERRIHEW(Day4)

1/23/06....Check cashed(Day10)

1/25/06....NOA1 via snailmail dated 1/19/06(Day12)

1/28/06....Checked case status on USCIS website. NOA2 approved 1/25/06(Day15)

1/30/06....NOA2 via snailmail dated 1/25/06; Called NVC and received case#(Day17)

2/02/06....Fiancee picks up "fiancee" packet 3 from Jakarta embassy(Day20)

2/06/06....NVC letter via snailmail dated 2/03/06(Day24)

2/27/06....Medical Exam and Police Report Completed(Day45)

2/28/06....Turned in documents to Embassy; Received Interview Date of March 9(Day46)

3/9/06......Fiancee has interview; problem with custody document translation(Day55)

3/10/06....Fiancee turns in translated document to embassy(Day56)

3/14/06....Fiancee picks up k-1 visa from embassy(Day60)

Congratulations,

You are just lucky. You wont get any special favors because you visa came quickly.

Wait about 3 weeks and go to the nearest SS office and apply for a card. Marry fairly soon so that you can get the name changed on the card before the I 94 expires.

You will need to file an I 485 to change status to permanent resident. She will probably want to file for employment authorization and possibly AP so she can travel while she is waiting on the green card. It all depends on the particular requirements.

Be sure to include the transcribed BC and a copy of the original. We forgot that and got an RFE.

You should also find a civil surgeon in your are that will take her DS 3025 shot record and turn that into an I 693A. Although it is not supposed to be a requirement you can save yourself some potential problems by doing this.

You only thought the visa was a pain in the ###. You are soon to set the bar a little higher.

27 March received bio letter for New Orleans

7 Apr_06 Bio done in New Orleans

20 April 06 Touched on all applications

21 April Email received EAD approved

27 Apr Received EAD card

30 May 2006 Received appointment letter for JaX on 13 July 2006

13 July Interview successful approved

20 July Received green card

30 June 08 Sent I751 to remove conditions

25 July 08 Application returned erroneously incorrect fee

27 July mailed new application with separate checks

15 Sept 08 Application returned erroneously K2 not within 90 day timeframe

17 Sept Mailed 3rd application with mountains of proof of error copied Senator Mel Martinez

09 October 4th application package sent. This time they said the app signature page was a copy

10 Oct Sent package again 4th time.

25 Oct Received another NOA for Wife with $625 for the amount with one year extension

30 Oct 2008 Still nothing for step daughter. Checks still haven't cleared the bank

24 November Checks finally cleared the bank

February biometrics for wife Nothing for daughter.

Hey, great to see a fellow Indonesian. Congrats on the K1 approval! I've just been approved for my GC myself last week and my husband and I are leaving for Indonesia this coming May 1st for 5-6 months. He's never been to Asia before.

Anyway, good luck on the second leg of your journey! I hope it will be as painless as the first.

June 17, 2005 - I-485, I-130, I-765 applications received by Chicago lockbox

June 28, 2005 - I-797C NOA dates for I-485, I-130, I-765

August 13, 2005 - EAD and AOS Biometrics & Fingerprints

August 24, 2005 - Results of fingerprint were received and processing has resumed. Email update received: September 6

August 29, 2005 - EAD Approved.

September 1, 2005 - EAD card sent.

September 3, 2005 - EAD card received.

December 7, 2005 - Online update - Interview has been cancelled

January 20, 2006 - Interview appointment letter received. Interview is set for March 16, 2006

March 16, 2006 - AOS approved and passport stamped!! :)

March 23, 2006 - AOS Touched - Status for this receipt number cannot be found at this time.
