2nd Biometrics for Pending N400

Hi to ALL.

I applied for my N400 in August  2016, and got done with my Biometrics in September.

As 18 months  I am still waiting  call to interview.

I've send emails and called to anywhere and had same answer " My case is still pending FBI background checks ".

Today I received another Biometrics Appointment letter.

Please my  questions are:

1. Why so long i'm under FBI background check.

2. Why they called me for 2nd Biometrics.

Thank you for answers

Could be a number of reasons:

A) Something came up in the criminal check that they have to manually look at

B) Something came up in the name check (perhaps your name matched the name of another person with a felony) that they have to manually look at to determine you are in the clear

C) Your application got "stuck" in the background check process....happens sometimes, unfortunately, and given that you applied in 2016 this is the more likely reason why it's taking so long

Biometrics are valid for 15 months.  If your petition/application is still pending after 15 months you have to complete them again.

On the plus side (if there is any), getting the notice for the 2nd biometrics appointment shows that USCIS hasn't forgotten you completely.

Yes I had same experience , passed my interview and was asked to submit my tax and 3 years worth of document detailing my marriage from A to Z , which I did and luckily got my oat letter 2 weeks after I submitted the requested document . Make sure you send everything as asked and hope for the best.
