Hi everyone,

I applied for a f-1 visa renewal on June 21, 2017, and my application was refused under 221g as I didn't have my I-20 form with me at the time of the interview. I was given a 221g form with a blue slip that said submission of I-20 form required before a decision can be made. So, I delivered the form on June 27, 2017 and I haven't heard back from the Consular Section for over 7 months. Later that week when i contacted the Consular Section, i was told my case is under Administrative Processing.

is there anyone out there who went through a long AP like over 7-8 months?? Any thoughts on ways to make a status inquiry (other than contacting the Consular) that actually helps understand why the process is taking that long?

thanks

You had a F1 studied in the US and are now renewing it, how did the first one go?
