Birth Certicate

Can someone tell me if a passport can serve as a birth certificate or do you need both...For the petitioner

Yes, to prove US citizenship, you can use your passport instead of a birth certificate.

If I recall correctly, I had to provide a copy of the entire passport (all pages) in lieu of a birth certificate..

ID page only if you are using it for proof of citizenship.

 

Passport ID page plus pages with entry/exit stamps for proof of meeting requirement

There is no conflict if you are reading the information from the USCIS

I think the old instructions used to say "ALL" and it still might for the I-130
