Wow!!! When was the last time you called? I called last week Monday and was told the same rhymes “we received your case and it was scanned on 26th January, it will take 11 weeks to review it blah blah blah..... “ mehn I was pissed. That was my Second Scan date, First scan date was 28th Dec, 2017. Then got checklist on 9th of January for not adding page 10-12 of our AOS so we had to refill and send again. It’s crazy and I’m tired!

Kindly update when you get a CC!

I m from pakistan. But who knows which country comes first

It's not like that. When they receive them they sort them by country and then there are different agents that work on different countries, so they are then sorted by priority dates and worked on like that. That's what the agent explained to me.

Package received ---> sorted by country----> sorted by priority date ----> agents responsible for the country choose from the pile they are responsible for.

That's my understanding. I guess because some country has different requirement so it makes sense to make agents trained for that country to work on them. I don't know.

@stricky So sorry to hear but many times it's a case of the left hand not talking to the right hand or for that matter, fingers on the same hand not talking to each other. Keep us posted on what they say. I am also curious to know how they expect you to send a copy when it's sealed!

So my wife just contacted the Aichi prefecture police department in Japan, and asked for two copies of her background police report. They informed her they are only authorized to give one report per case and it is, in fact, voided if opened by anyone other than the embassy. This kind of thing always happens to me haha. I'll call first thing in the morning, before my exam and try and get to the bottom of this.

January scan dates keep us update when you get CC and interview dates

So I was a Jan 23rd scan date, and got my checklist on Feb 16th. Not a CC unfortunately, but I can only imagine that this means they were reviewing my case last week. So that's 4ish weeks.

Hello everyone,

I am going through the instructions for I-864 and read that we may need to include the 1099 form in the tax docs. Does anyone know what this form is about? when we file our taxes, do we all have to have such a form? Thanks in advance for any tips. I am trying to be proactive and prepare any documentation needed. The NVC just received my case (After 60 days of USCIS approval!).

Thanks

Hello, a 1099 tax form is only for people who was an independent contractor or LLC earning more than $600 for the year. Basically if you had any type of business.
