EAD APPROVED!!!

Can you believe it?? We went to the infopass appointment today and I was all ready to fight. I told the official we were here because it was almost 90 days and we were still waiting for the EAD. I told him that the last officer told us the EAD should be either approved or denied a week before then (day 83). That officer was right.

The officer today told us the card was ordered on 7/23 - 4 days ago!! There are still no updates, e-mails, and the last officer didn't call. I'm soooo happy and relieved!! And of course my husband is glad to be able to work.

THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT and for your help. I feel so much better now. The AOS is still pending he said but I cared about the EAD - I know the GC can take months.

Phew and yeaaaaaaaaaa :dance::dancing:. We're going on vacation to NY tomorrow for 2 weeks. Now we can really relax and Eliton can search for a job when we get back.

xoxo, Meredith

Congrats, Bora Bora - now you can relax!!

Oh... one thing (stupid question I'm sure)... did you get confirmation that the code was definitely changed on the form? Just thinking how gutting it would be to have the EAD arrive in the mail and find it expired on day 90... not trying to put a dampener on things, just occurred to me to hope they really did get the code changed and fix the problem...?!

2005 - We met

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

No, no problem - you're right. But they'd be sending us an expired EAD then because my hubby's I-94 expired almost 6 weeks ago. If that is the case then we'll have to reapply which I think will be ok. It'd be BAD but I think it'd be better than having it denied so we'll see. I didn't ask that question because I was so excited.

If that happens then we'll cross that bridge when we get there...

I'm just glad it was approved - a denial would be hard to deal with (I think). The officer said we should have it next week but we won't be back for 2 weeks so I'll check my e-mail and post here.

Aha - sorry, that WAS a stupid question, 'cos I'm confusing one set of 90 days (I-94 expiry date) with another (90 days since filing for the EAD) - duh! Ignore me... and glad that quite obviously won't be a problem, there's no way they'd have approved the EAD weeks after the date it would have had to expire. Congrats again, then! :) :)

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Finally girl FINALLY!!!!!!! Super happy for you!

Thanks Jessi....you've always been there w/ kind words - I'm so happy!!

I couldn't believe it when the officer said that the card was being produced. OMG!!

It's such a relief for me. I work w/ immigrants and they've all be through this process - and/or their husbands so it was an exciting day. One woman told me that I LOOK different....haha

I know I'm more excited than Eliton only because he's a lot more patient. But, he's been saying "when I work...." so much that now he can be sure that "when" is soon. He asked me today to help him find a job...so I'll do that as soon as I get back from vacation.

We still haven't heard anything about the greencard after the welcome new resident thing sent July 17th. The notice says it can take up to three weeks to get the card, and the help line menu seems to think it's not a problem until you've been waiting 30 days, so we're within their tolerance, but I'm impatient! Based on people's experiences here it seems a little unusual to wait this long, and it'll be a big pain if it doesn't come before we move on August 8th.

I have a feeling they're being slow because of the number of cases/applications they're receiving now. Many people are waiting 'til last minute to apply before the fee increase.

I hope you receive it soon.

Our case still isn't updated on line...

Yeah, I guess I'm not so seriously worried, more just impatient. Congrats on the EAD. :)

Thanks everyone!! Woo hoo.

I'm glad to "hear" that your checks were cashed Jashley. I think USCIS is slow on everything...on heishe's card, our EAD updates, your checks...

at least we've heard something at this point.

Even bad news is good news....I thought our case was lost.

I'm very glad to know that the INFOPASS is probably what did it for us. It's like we at least have something we can do....instead of just wait and in my case complain :innocent: ...
