AP in Egypt 7-31-2017

Hello,

We are going to be 6 months in AP . At the interview the officer gave my husband a white paper and said return the family registration document and your passport back to us.  My husband had already went to get the family registration but it was not ready before the interview. He picked it up the next day, so on 8/1/2017 he sent the info they asked for back to the embassy. Till now we are still waiting. Our case has date updates 3 times now on the ceac webpage and the embassy does answer "his emails".  How long can AP going on? (Notice on the document attached, top right it says IR-1)

Administrative Processing  times can't be estimated, unfortunately.  I think it is reasonable to think there were security checks needed in addition to the requested document.  The US citizen can request info from Senators office, but I doubt it would get any useful information.  

This process requires a great deal of patience...good luck.

There is no time limit for AP, it can be quite lengthy

I have seen people in AP for 8 years (this is MUCH longer than usual)
