Hi Folks!!

I am in US (on H1B) from past 10 Months and got an extension for next 3 Years. My wife could't travel along with me as we were expecting a baby. Now she is all good and my baby is also 10 months old. they are planning to attend h4 at Kathmandu consulate.

She did most of her studies in Nepali medium and is hesitant of speaking / understanding English. Although i have sent all-the required documents and handed out possible questions and and trained her how to answer them, can anyone let me known their experience?? When i booked appointment , i could not find the language preference for interview.

Very little to ask for a H4.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

My spouse attended and VO said they will issue a visa.
Experience Details:
Got PP and DS-160 and appointment details verified at entrance.

Was asked to go for photo and finger print directly.

Once the finger print was done, was asked to go to the next counter and showed all the documents.

After the document verification was over, was asked to attend interview.

During the interview was asked to show few documents and asked few questions.

The interview was short as my kid started snatching the papers from my spouse hand and wasn't stopping.

Was asked to collect the PP after 5 working days.

Overall , it was excellent experience. Kathmandu embassy is so good and organized overall.

Great on the visa.

On a thread maybe a year or so ago, a USC petitioning for his Nepali wife stated the exact opposite. They got the Katmandu runaround while trying to get info/visa etc. They mentioned how the general staff is poorly trained and looking for palms to be greased etc. Moral.. good experience if a visa is issued and horrible if there's runaround/denial.
