Hey there! First of all, congratulations!

there is a section where you can read past member's experiences in Ciudad Juarez:

there are some good tips there. I haven't gone through the process, but the general recommendations are to stay close, do not buy any non-refundable or non-changeable tickets to the US until you have the passport back with the stamp, make sure that you don't forget any document (all originals) and stay calm :) I know you're nervous, but be prepared and rehearse some of the common questions together beforehand if you need it, if you're truthful and follow the instructions everything will work out! the best of lucks

We went through the interview process at the end of November and everything was rather smooth. We stayed at a new hotel called Extended Suites that had a reasonable price and a small kitchenette where you could cook and had a good fridge to store groceries. This hotel is also in front of the Mall and on the same street with a bridge to cross to the side where the clinics, consulate and CAS are located. For the medical exam we used Medicos de la Frontera. Our appointment was at 8 am and we were done by 10:30. They offer a free shuttle from your hotel to the clinic. For the fingerprint scan make sure to arrive 15 mins before your appointment time, they won't let you in earlier and this process won't take more than 20 minutes. For the interview, just have him arrive 30 minutes before the time of his appointment. He will go through security before entering the Consulate. He will not be allowed to bring his cell phone or other devices. Just have him bring his documents. The process is not difficult, it mainly consists of a very long wait as there are hundreds of people there for the same reason. He will go to a window where they will collect all the documents and then passed to another section to wait for the interview. Make sure he takes all his documents listed in the interview letter and the passport photos. I saw people not having the photos and were given a blue slip for them to leave the Consulate and return with them later that day. The interview is fairly straight forward and consists of a few questions regarding your case. It is just nerve wrecking to wait 2-3 hours, but he will do well. Best of luck! and I am happy to answer any questions you have.
