How to pause the process after receiving NOA1

I sent in a K3 petition for my Brazilian husband in July and received the NAO1 form. Since then my husband’s job has been transferred and we would like to stay in Brazil for the time being. Is there a way I can pause (not suspend) my petition. I have not received the NOA2 form yet.

Well the visa you will receive will not be a K-3 but IR1/CR1.  You can easily stretch out the process to visa issuance plus the visa once issued the has a 6 month validity before it expires.  So a year would be easy just letting the current process complete

YMMV

Ok thanks! Do you know if there is also a way to formally pause it?

I also need to notify that we will have a change of address here in Brazil.

Many ways to slow it down but I am not aware of a way to formally "pause" a petition.  Where is your petition?  Where did you submit it?

YMMV

You are looking at potentially another 6 to 7 months before the I-130 is approved.  You can stretch out the visa issuance easily by another several months (2-4), and then upon issuance you get 6 months to use the visa.

If you in fact did file and I-129F (for K-3) in addition to the I-130, you will simply ignore that in the unlikely event the two petitions are not combined by the USCIS

YMMV

You can slow it down at the NVC stage for several years.

Is this the stage that I am at? How do I slow it down?

Have you read the guides?  If you just filed the I-130 then you are not at this stage.

Ok, thank you for your help.

I filed the I-130 and it was routed to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center for processing. What would the NVC stage be? What should I do at that point?

You can wait up to one year between each submission to the NVC
