I came with a tourist visa and 3 months later got married in the US. In the forms they ask for my "physical address" and "current address". Are those the same? Should I write my adress in the US? I am Colombian but was living in France for my studies (2 years) before I came in America.  Thank you!

The forms allow you to include a mailing address, if different then your physical address. Some people have PO boxes or get their mail at another location. The physical address is where you are living.

Thank you Dane. I got confussed because a lawyer told me to put my adress in France because it was my "residence place" but I'm not living there anymore.

So maybe my question should be:

I travelled from France to the US on August the 1st. We got married at the end of October.
Is my "place of residence" from August to October still considered to be "France" even if I was traveling in the US? At what point would I be considered to be "living" in the US?

Are you applying for Adjustment of Status from a tourist visa?

AFAIK there is an "Address History" section on the I-130 in which you have to mention all the addresses you lived at in the past 5 years (I think it's 5?) in which you would mention your address in France. Also I believe your place of residence is your current address in the US, it definitely cannot be France since your local USCIS office does not have jurisdiction over there ;)

N400 filed - online: 10/30/2020

NOA: 11/02/2020

Bio reuse: 12/30/2020

USCIS changed to "Interview Scheduled": 06/07/2021

Interview Date: 07/14/2021 Approved!

USCIS changed to "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled": 07/15/2021

USCIS changed to "Oath Ceremony notice mailed": 07/20/2021

Oath Ceremony: 08/06/2021 🇺🇸

Thank you for your reply SabRob!

Yes, I'm applying for the adjustement of status from a tourist visa. You are right, they ask for the last 5 years, but from August 1st (the day I left France) until the day of the marriage my place of residence or "physical address" should be the US ?

I would say that your current physical address is the one you live at in the US right now and then say one of your past physical addresses was in France was until 1 Aug of this year.
