Hi all! I had my interview last Thursday for K1 Visa. The interview went well the officer said that everything looked good but needed to send in my co sponsors birth certificate and w2. They received my documents today dec 1st. I am on administrative processing I’m guessing because the missing documents. Does anyone have experience with this ? If the co sponsor has sufficient funds should we get approved ?!

AP is a catch-all for anything that they need to do after the actual visa application takes place (the interview). Since you got a 221g pending those documents, once they receive and process those documents, your case will resume. AP can also cover things like background checks, internal processing between the IV and NIV units (K-1s are weird...), printing of the actual visa, etc.

There's no way to know how long it will take or that they will approve the case, but this is normal and I wouldn't anticipate any troubles given the information provided. It's just a slight delay to get through the needed documents.

Ok! Thank you! I was thinking that because it’s just tax forms and I know my cosponsor makes enough money that we should be fine. It’s not like they don’t think our relationship was real or anything. That was the only document needed. And if they had something to deny us about they would have at the interview.

we were never in AP / said approved on CEAC  web site the day of interview

visa was issued 5 days later and said issued on site same day

i know others go thru lengthy AP process but this is so embassy dependent

YOu are in AP for needed documents / when you submit them make sure as others will tell you to write in upper right hand corner the following

     case number

     both names

     both DOB's

all pages must be marked like this or they may not go to the right packet

good luck
