About to send AOS...

Everything is printed, photocopied and signed but we are missing two things. My husband's proof of US citizenship since he lost his birth certificate and passport  but he should be able to pick a copy this week. He thought his old employer had done his 2016 taxes this whole time. (He doesn't have anything for 2014 and 2015) He got it done this week and was told it would take 10 business days.

 

My 90 days will be done in 2 weeks, can I send everything now or do we really need to wait for the US citizenship proof and transcript? The I-864 got accepted in Canada because we wrote a letter explaining our situation, can I do the same thing for the AOS?

You don't have to send off the AOS by the 90 day mark you just have to be married. You can send it later when you have everything.

I would advise you to wait until you get both.

They are one of the most important things you need and you'll get RFIE which defeats the purpose of you rushing to send them in now.

Breathe and wait a couple more days

Agreed. Otherwise if you got an RFIE, you would waste more time.

Sooo the AOS still hasn't been sent lol. My husband went with H&R block (they are the ones that said it would take 10 business days) and they ended up ripping him off so he dealt with the IRS directly. He started going there weekly in December and they have made it difficult for him to get his tax return, till this day he still doesn't have it. He lost his job the first week of January and he hasn't found another one yet. 

 

His dad finally accepted to be the co sponsor. We gathered all of his info today but do we still need to gather my husband's tax documents? He has no history with the IRS. Can we just write a letter explaining the situation or wait who knows how long for the IRS to give back the 2016 and 2017 tax returns? (my medical expires in March)
