Hi everyone.

My fiancé and I filed for a K1- visa petition March 27th 2017 and our petition got approved by the USCIS August 23rd 2017.

The NVC sent us a case number September 1st 2017. When we entered  our case number here : ceac.state.gov it says that our case was created september 1st 2017 and last updated september 7th 2017 and that we are ready for an interview. So far so good but it's been a month since we received a a case number and We didn't hear back from Casablanca's  embassy Yet. We are very concerned has anybody waited over a month for an appointment letter? Is that normal?

Looking to time line of similar petitions of K1 with Casablanca, it looks like that some get their interview letter just around a month or so after the case left NVC, some little bit longer or shorter. Sending an email to the consulate with your case number would be the best resource to find out if they are backlogged of if they sent the interview letter out and you guys did not get it.

Thank you for your reply! We actually sent an email to the consulate three days ago and we didn't get any response yet..

Yeah. Very annoying I know. But as far as I know, that consulate is very busy....Give it another week to either hear from them or email them again. Looking to the timeline you shared, this is very normal. Also, you can call NVC to find out if the case has been transferred to the embassy and when. usually it takes a week or little more for the NVC to send the case to the consulate then another week for the consulate to receive it. So if it left NVC by the 7th. Most likely it made it to the consulate around the 20th....just from other's timelines.

Have you messaged them asking for an appointment time? We just discussed this last week.  I had to email them 2-3 times a week for FIVE WEEKS before they sent me an appointment time.   I know others who emailed them daily but I did not want to be TOO much of a pain.

I emailed you the info previoisly so if you only emailed once, keep trying. Mention your expiration date, and keep trying just like I advised before.  And the US petitioner has to email, not you.

Hello! Yes My fiance e-mailed them once this week with no luck. We kept the message short and informative just like how you showed me. I guess we will have to try again next week because i believe they don't like when they receive too many messages from the same person.

Keep emailing them. The Casablanca consulate is known to be extremely slow. My fiancé heard back from them in 3 days with his interview date, but that isn't the average turnaround time. I honestly would email them every other day.

it will not help at this point to call NVC as the case now on way to embassy and NVC can not view the case

u should recieve the email with list of doctors for medical exam and the name of the 2 reports needed

as soon as the packet is ready for interview you can schedule medical and get the 2 criminal investiations done

important to know

if u get approved u have 6 months to travel to the US from the date of the medical exam

and,  please don't buy any tickets till that passport with visa stamp is in your hand

NVC can give the petitioner the date that the petition has been sent out OR if it is still at the NVC. this will give the petitioner an idea of where the petition is. Also, it will give the petitioner peace of mind when he/she knows the time the consulate might have received the petition and decide if she needs to be more involved of give it sometime. you are right the NVC has no say in deciding the interview date, but can tell you when they sent out the petition or of it is still there for some reason. Happened before.
