Unfortunately, your embassy is known for long Administrative Processing times. Congratulations on getting to this point in your journey.  Good luck.

Congrats!! Please post your embassy review so it helps us out. Thanks.

Thanks.

My application was filed by my wife in June 2016. I was refused student visa for a state department fellowship in October last year, because my immigration application was already in process. In March this year, the documents were sent to Pakistan embassy. I got a letter in August for the interview. Did my medical examination in Aziz Medical Center, Islamabad.

Appeared for the interview on 21st September. Reached the bus terminal (near Quaid-e-Azam University) at around 6:30 in the morning. The fee has increased to almost 1000 rupee. The cars are comfortable though. They don't use buses anymore to shift you to the diplomatic enclave.

Early in the morning there was some glitch in the computer, when they tried to get my biometric details. I was asked to wait. The glitch appeared to be related to my profile only. Others didn't face the problem. I had to wait for almost two hours, heart sinking, before being called for biometric, followed by submission of documents, at a separate booth. Then i was called for the interview. A couple of very basic questions about my travels to other countries, about how i met my wife, about my kids, place of residence in US etc. were asked  by the counselor. She said my Visa is approved (i couldn't believe my ears, probably because of the rejection last year). I didn't get any paper (receipt).

My fist status read "Administrative Processing", a day after the interview, when i checked. It changed to "ready" on the 25th of Sep. Remained "Ready" for almost eight days, before changing to "Administrative Processing" again. The next day (5th October) the status changed to "Issued". Another day on, I got a call from the American Express. I got the stamped passport yesterday (6th October).

My CEAC status still reads "Issued". I was hoping to get a "Ready To Pick Up" status.

Nevertheless, I am a happy man, excited like a kid, hoping to see my wife and two sons after 14 very long months,.

Hope this was useful.
