We got our case number two days ago!!  So that’s 5 weeks from when they said they received it, but 14 weeks from when we received NOA2!

ok, next challenge. I looked at the support for, that I am supposed to fill in and got very confused. I am sponsoring both my Mum and my Dad on 2 different petitions. Do I just complete one support form, or do I need to do both, but then counting members of household gets very confusing!  Anybody figured it out yet?

NOA2 16th Feb

Case received 23 April!

case number 27th May

Hi, did you call NVC on the 27th? I haven’t call them this week. They received our case April 18. I’ll try to call them tomorrow, hopefully, they’ll give me a case number too. By the way, Congratulations!

Hi everyone,

I’m new in this forum. I’m petitioning both my parents. Here is my timelines

Priority date for both parents: 10/06/2017

NOA2: 05/09/2018

NVC received both cases on 05/15/2018

waiting for case number.

I’m trying to prepare as much documents as I can now. What kind of documents should I prepare beforehand ?

Take a look at the sample DS260 so that you can collect the right info for Mom and Dad.  Also fill in I864 - we used the EZ version for sponsor.

I have put together a word doc with all the answers to DS260 in the right order for both of us, so that filling in will be straightforward as it has to be done in one sitting, but you can’t do it until you get the NVC case number.

Good luck - still waiting for numbers at 10 weeks after arrival at NVC :(

Hi Rokarmy1023 - I am waiting for case numbers for both mom and dad. One of our fellow forum members received emails for both of his/her mom and dad couple of days back. He/she hadn't called NVC to see when they received it, so we don't know if it was 8 weeks or longer. But I expect you should hear from NVC about your husband's case # next week if that will be 8 weeks. Or even this weekend or Monday (as really isn't 31-May 8 weeks from 5 April?). Good luck! We are all in the same boat.

Smidgkin - thanks for keeping us updated and for sharing good tips. I hope you have better luck with NVC this coming week. I read your 8 weeks at NVC post. That's strange and frustrating, I am sure.

Hi folks -

While I am waiting for my parents' case numbers from NVC, I have started looking at the DS-260 (the pdf that is posted as an example) and have a couple of questions that I am hoping to get some help with.

I filed and got approval for 2 separate I-130 petitions - 1 for my mom and 1 for my dad. So, I know we have to fill in 2 separate DS-260 forms, 1 each for mom and dad.

Here are my questions:

1.) On the Family Information: Spouse page,

a) Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. with you?

My guess is that the answer is "NO" to this question as my mom and dad have separate petitions and will submit separate DS-260s? But would really appreciate some guidance/response from those who were in the same situation (filed for both parents).

b) Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you?

This is definitely "NO" for our case.

2.) My dad has retired for more than 15 years now. So, we will be filling in RETIRED in Primary Occupation. And we will answer the question "Were you previously employed?" as YES (since he was). However, when answered YES, the next question asks for information on employers fro last 10 years, starting with most recent. Any suggestions on what we should enter here? Should we simply answer with "None-Retired"? Did anyone else have this situation?

Thanks very much for the help in advance.

I have been waiting for case numbers for both my mom and dad from NVC for 11 weeks already, and still nothing.. I called NVC this week, they said still to wait.

Hi Oceanwave - 11 weeks from when? Are you counting from when they received your case, because I believe you can escalate to Tier 2 if that is 11 weeks from NVC received.

We are also over 11 weeks and despite numerous conversations, including over 30 minutes on Friday, and escalating (was told can take up to 6 weeks after escalating) and then expediting (was told 7-10 days after expediting) still nothing. Expediting was three weeks ago today.  Have been told to ring tomorrow and will update you after that.
