I’m just curious has anyone actually received the new redesigned green card announced by USCIS a few months ago? I’ve tried to search for this info but can’t seem to find any discussions online. Pls share your experience if you have. Thanks in advance... btw mods feel free to move this topic to the appropriate forum where it’ll get better exposure.

Wife got hers after the May 1 change and it features all of the changes stated on the USCIS website. Her photo is on the front and is also on the back as an embedded, holographic image. On the front side in the bottom left corner it says "Signature Waived" instead of her signature.

I don’t know why they call it green card. Is it used to be green ??

The one from 1977 was white. 1990’s and early 2000 version was light yellow. Late 2000 version came with light green. The new design still kept some shades of green

Yes, the first card in history was green. If you are interested, you may read more of the card's history here: https://citizenpath.com/history-green-card/

By the way, does anyone happen to know how long will it take before we actually receive a new 10 Year Green Card AFTER we have received the ROC approval letter? Any suggestions are welcomed. FYI.. I'm a NYC filer. Thank you ;)

I’ve just received my new Green Card this morning. I thought it’d take on the new design but nope it looks exactly like the one I had three years ago only with my signature waived. Whatever, I like it the way it is.
