My wife and stepdaughter had their interview on Wednesday August 16th. 1 hour after interview CEAC showed "Issued"...this was for their Cr1/Cr2. Just be patient...it probably won't take much longer.

Your timetable can be different there others.  No two visa's process the same. We have seen some go to issue on the same day and we have seen other who have gone 6 months or more. No one can say for sure about  your visa. Hank gave you a typical window for normal processing from interview to issue. Patience is needed at this time. Do NOT make flight arrangements till the visa is in your hands.

What questions did they ask your step daughter. My future asawa has 2 kids who need to interview. They are worried. Was you wife with them or were they alone in the interview?  Did you have to schedule 2 interviews or did the USEM know they were together?

I was together with my wife and stepdaughter during the interview. My stepdaughter is 7 years old. 1 interview...they knew they were together because we had the same interview time and that she was a CR2 applicant. The CO only asked my daughter her age and what grade she was in. It was really an easy interview. I called in to USEM about 3 weeks ago and scheduled their interview for the same time.

Thanks for the info. I am stressing out over the minor details and I still have a couple months at least until I know if we are approved!!!

You go up to the CO with your children. Age appropriate they will take the oath together with you. The CO will ask them a couple of simple questions like name and age etc. The CO that interviewed my step children asked them their names, their age and what did they call me. My step daughter is older so she said "Dad" and my stepson (who never knew his father is a little more timid, but we hung together at times so he was comfortable with me) responded that he calls me Tito Denny. BTW that questioning will tell the CO how much the kids know about their future stepdad and if mom really has a relationship. Since I was at the interview at the time that in my opinion helped also. The interview for my wife was a few questions, easy to answer and within five minutes they were done and approved.

It's hard to communicate to those of you who are going through this process that it is easy. The hardest part is getting all the documents submitted, payments made and schedules kept. Once you get all that behind you the interview is so anticlimactic that you whisper to yourself "all that" for 5 min in front of the CO. Oy Vey. I think the interview is the easiest part of this whole process.

Hi, Hank... so my fiancee was approved on the day of her interview. Hassle free. Based on recent timelines, how long has it been taking for visas to be issued? Her interview was on June 18. Would she have known right away at her interview if they needed additional docs? What does this 221g look like anyway? She was given the domestic violence pamphlet and a slip that explained how to register her visa packet delivery address. So.... all good signs?

Is the 221g issued on the day of the interview? Or can they approve your visa at the interview and send a 221g afterwards?
