I-130 1st NOA 3 weeks?

Hello Everyone! 

 

My Attorney said that the first Notice of Action regarding the I-130 (to be sent next week) will take around 3 weeks, is it true? I've read on this forum people getting it after one week, did they say 3 weeks to be sure or does it actually take 3 weeks to receive the NOA?

1 week for some, 4 weeks for others. They want you to give them 30 days before you contact them about it.

It can take up to a month (aka 30 days) so you should give it at least that amount of time.

Thank you for letting me know! So the Attorney Law Firm wants to have 30 days before I contact them about the NOA.

That is the maximum amount of time, but is any statistics out there regarding the average waiting time for the NOA1?

Not really.  Some people have waited MONTHS, others a few days.  It varies on time of year, service center, and even backlog

Got'cha! And do you know by any chance what is the best method to pay for the I-130 $535 in order to track the payment? Cashier's check or money order? USCIS should process the payment and reflect on my bank account days before the NOA1 is out.

Personal check works fine because you can normally track if it's been cashed through your bank.

Great! I heard that with the money order you can save few days because with the check they wait until it is cleared but maybe for the peace of mind personal checks are better.
