Called USCIS today...

I called USCIS this afternoon to bother them and see if I could get any more information out of them aside from the usual login and message of "We received your RFE on blah, blah, blah...."  First she really wasn't that much of a help.  She asked if it was my first time calling.  What she did give me is they are currently working on cases sent in as of Jan 1st.  We filled in the beginning of Feb.  So hopefully they will be done with Jan. soon!   Has anyone kept calling and had success?

Try calling and requesting to speak to an L2 officer.  They are actual immigration officers and can give you personal details about your case, not the same customer service reps who answer the phone.

Sometimes you have to press the person to transfer you over...sometimes they are more than happy to transfer you.

When you get transferred you will be able to leave a call-back number and a get a timeframe of when the officer will call you (normally within a couple of hours).

The customer service people that answer the phone can only give you the information you yourself can find on the online case status.

Thanks I was going to try calling again on Monday.  Think that would help?  I would like to know if we screwed something up and need to fix or if everything is good but they are just slow.  lol

Speaking to someone who can actually view your case and answer more complex questions will help a whole lot better than speaking to someone who just reads information off of the USCIS website verbatim ;)

For your general info, receiving the NOA2 after I sent in an RFE took about two full weeks to receive. The USCIS has STILL not updated. It never will. It just says that my reply was received. Meanwhile I'm already at the interview stage.

Mind you, those "two weeks" are what were marked on their NOA2 form.... It probably took another week to get to me.

The site will likely never update, and you'll be stuck waiting either way.... However the others have given you very sound advise if you do want to find out more info, but if it's been less than 3 weeks, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Yes the website seems to never really update.  They received all my RFE stuff on June 16th, so 6 weeks to this day.  This is what worries me, I have heard from many others who say about the same thing, it took about 2-3 weeks after.  I guess the waiting is just frustrating!
