I-485 Pending Supervisor Approval

Me and my wife went to our I-485 appointment today. Appointment was very simple and straight forward. The lady was very nice. We gave her pictures, proof of relationship and everything she asked for. We are even expecting our first child in January and I gave her a doctors note to prove it. We were asked the typical question of how you met, when, etc... It all seemed good. She even said that since me and my wife have been married for less then 2 years that she would get a 2 year conditional green card. She went and brought us a paper saying that our case is pending review. She said her supervisor has to take a look at it and once approved we would get the green card mailed to us. She said it could take up to 4 months to get the green card just depending on how fast the green card can be made. The only thing I can think of that might make the case need further review is that my wife is from Libya. I could be wrong but that's just my guess. Has this happened to anybody before? We're you approved for the green card and how long did it take to get after the pending review appointment.

On the spot approvals are rare.  Should be fine

Update: 2 weeks from appointment and nothing has changed.

I heard from news that Trump wants vetting from certain list of countries. It's very unfair if this is true. I had my interview on Monday and until now didn't heard anything. I'm on F2A Philippines.

The stereotyping in general that people come from certain country would have an extreme vetting.. To be fair, same vetting regardless of country of origin. That would ensure security for the country. But then again, that would make all process and wait longer.

"Fairness" isn't the goal. Security and lawful immigration are.

I personally don't mind the extra vetting. If you haven't done anything wrong you have nothing to worry about. It's good to know that America has good security and I do understand that some parts of the world are not as safe as others. My only concern is that it is going to cause processing times to be very long for people from certain countries. I just hope that they can do all the necessary additional security checks or whatever needs to be done in a timely manner.
