Freeloaders as far as taking advantage of the US military might? Sure I agree with that, but I don't blame them at all for doing it.

The others, well..  Canada and Sweden are two countries that have it incredibly easy. No one takes their military seriously.

 

What's concerning for me, living in Canada, is Canada's utter lack of ability to defend itself and its absolutely massive span of land, air, and sea.

Well whether it needs them or not - the bottom line is they still do just fine. You've had several dozen women with pilot wings and some in infantry as well. This explains a little more, it's not perfect and it never will be, but there's no reason to not have women involved at least in some places.

Also, when I was doing my recruit service, all of our instructors were women. AND they were younger than us because I was in a group that did 2 years of technical college prior to enlisting so didn't actually enlist till I was 20(instead of 18). Now, imagine a group of guys being told what to do and taught how to shoot by women who are younger than them. I think it's a good lesson for life.

I've always admired Israeli women for their toughness. Of course, doesn't go into my personal likes and dislikes.. as I don't personally find masculinity in females an attractive trait. OTOH.. Gal Gadot.. diamonds.

 

I like the RCMP. They're not the military (anymore), but they have the admiration of US law enforcement agencies because of their tenacity (as in, effectiveness, not merely desire) in apprehending the worst criminals.

The major fake news sites, are running a big story this morning about a Transgender decorated Navy seal that called Trump out.

 

The fact that I am gifted at decoding  fake news , lead to some conclusions they fail to mention.

 

The seal did not identify as Transgender until after discharge.  Never it any way had anything to do with transgender while in. Fake News. He would not be prohibited from serving under Trump.

 

That would be like saying I served as a diabetic although I didn't catch the sugar until many years later

I am ignorant about many things, which is why I need to look to other people, and ideally actual studies, to help educate me on topics. We are all likely ignorant about more subjects than we are knowledgeable. Fact of life.

 

I was merely asking what evidence do you have for your statement, or were you just making a blanket statement based on your "lack of knowledge" (ignorance). Your reply was you have years of service, to which I would say that is great but that is personal anecdotal experience. While that is SOME evidence, it is essentially the lowest level of evidence if you want to study something objectively.

The actual word you were looking for is apologize. Not being picky but I just get chills down my spine when someone uses bad grammar.

Comparing being transgender to diabetes has a major flaw though.

 

We would have to ask her, but presumably she at least had internal conflict regarding her identity during her time serving as a Seal. She may have already personally identified as female, but kept it a secret. If people are arguing transgenders are "weak" because they are "mentally unstable" it shouldn't matter whether they have "come out" as transgender publically or not.

 

If you want to compare it to diabetes it would be like someone serving in the military while HIDING the fact that they KNOW they have diabetes (or they have at least serious suspicions).
