I spend a lot of time reading this forum to educate myself and to plan/prepare for my upcoming journey. I finally decided maybe it's time to ask a few questions. I am pretty sure I know the answers but it never hurts to get confirmation.

First some background. I am a male USC and actually still married. I filed for divorce about 3 years ago and for various reasons have not completed it yet. The final papers have been sent to the court and I should have my final decree in August. I plan to go to the Philippines in mid-late September to get married to my girlfriend (can't really call her fiance yet because I never officially proposed) who is a Philippines citizen. I am 53 years old and she is 28. We have been in a relationship for just over 6 years. My current wife and I had grown apart long before this and I was always honest about my relationship and my plans for divorce. I have been to the Philippines to be with my girlfriend 4 times and this will be the 5th so we have plenty of material to show a bonifide relationship.

My upcoming trip will be for just over 3 weeks. Here is my plan:

1) Arrive in Manila Thursday evening and pick up certificate in lieu of capacity to marry on Friday morning.

Make sure to book appointment on USEM website 1 month in advance.

2) CENOMAR - Order online and have sent to GF's house. I will probably do that soon.

Does anyone know how long it is valid in terms of applying for wedding license?

3) Travel to her province and file for marriage license on the same Friday.

4) Wait for license 10 working days and then get married on the weekend after.

5) Monday after wedding notify her local PSA of wedding so that they can get the information to Manila.

6) enjoy the rest of my time and prepare whatever is needed for CR-1

CR-1

1) I do not think that our age difference would be an issue because it is not out of the norm for Pinay's to marry older men. What do you think?

2) Will there be any issues with me getting married less than a month after my divorce is final?

I am sure I will have more questions along the way. I will be working on putting together everything for filing CR-1 prior to and during my trip as much as possible and file as quickly as I can.

Thanks for any answers or advice.

The plan sounds good, as long as the divorce is final and you have the decree to take with you.

CR-1 Questions:

1) No issue.  Very common

2) As long as you're single before you marry, no issue.

Best of luck.

Advice?  Have fun, don't stress.

Marriage plan sound good.

CR-1

1. Age is not a factor with USEM so put that out of your mind.

2. No issues. Don't bring anything up in front of the CO during the interview. Just answer the questions to the point. DON'T volunteer any information. They are trained to take what you say and use in determining the outcome of your visa applacation.

CENOMAR has a 1 year shelf life.  ;)

Marriage license after marriage is filed at the local registry, they will forward it to PSA for recording.

Age gap is a non-issue.

Plan sounds workable for sure.

This should help you with the I-130 (IR/CR-1) immigrant visa process  https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/petition.html
