I think you are getting confused. US citizens must enter the country using their US passports. That means that dual citizens (US and another country) must declare and present themselves as US citizens when ENTERING the country. You are not a US citizen. You are a resident. You don't have an American passport. You have to use your Australian passport for international travel because you're Australian and this is (presumably) the only passport you have. You will show your green card to immigration when you arrive as this is proof that you live in the USA legally. But for the airline and for passport purposes you are Australian.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Also, unlike most other countries I've heard of, the U.S. does not have exit controls per se. You show your passport at the airline check-in desk and at security, but there's no customs/immigration agent who stamps your passport with an exit date when you leave the U.S.

You should be fine. I hope you enjoyed your holiday!!
