Hi guys,

So I will be sending (mailing) one package to nvc in a day or 2 depending on you guys responses.  Just want to confirm if I am sending it right and in correct order.  This is for my spouse i-130 application. Both fees have been paid and now I just collected supporting and financial documents.

1. Document cover sheet on Top

2. Cover letter that mentions our nvc case number along with me petitioner and my spouse beneficiary name and date of birth. it will list all documents and the order that I am sending including supporting and financial documents. (got a sample letter from here that I will be using)  https://docs.google.com/document/d/16fpd3oYb5oYesSgc5OI5YPXalrhp1po28q9R7MnACIc/edit

Supporting Documents:

3. photocopies of both our passports

photocopies of both our birth certificate in english

    photocopy of our marriage certificate

Financial Documents (affidavit form)

4. Completed and Signed I-864EZ form

Proof of US status --> My US passport copy along with copy of my social security

proof of domicile --> Not Applicable since i never lived outside of US for more than 6 months or my spouse outside of her country other than she was born in.

A letter of employment from my company

Recent paychecks I received ( I included 3)

Copy of my 1040 tax returns

Copy of W2 forms

Copy of IRS tax transcript

So now adoption, marriage termination, court records, military records, proof of domicile,  are not applicable to me. However I am little struggling with few questions that I have.

1. Police certification --> Since my spouse is in india, i can't get that certification unless i have interview letter from nvc so my spouse can bring it to interview. (maybe someone from india or anyone who has more knowledge can shed light on this?)

2. I am making slightly more than $40,000 with household of 2. Just to make sure I am >125% income limit? Since I will not be using any sponsor or assets. I do have about 50k-60k in my checking account available to me anytime, but again i don't think i need that either because of my income? can someone confirm that please?

Last and all, I look forward to replies as i can't wait to send the package. Thanks a lot everyone.

Supporting Documents:

3. photocopies of both our passports  only need the beneficiary's

photocopies of both our birth certificate in english only need the beneficiary's

    photocopy of our marriage certificate

Financial Documents (affidavit form)

4. Completed and Signed I-864EZ form

Proof of US status --> My US passport copy along with copy of my social security Not needed, your US status is established on the basis of the approved I-130, proof of US status is only needed from Joint Sponsors.

proof of domicile --> Not Applicable since i never lived outside of US for more than 6 months or my spouse outside of her country other than she was born in.

A letter of employment from my company

Recent paychecks I received ( I included 3)

Copy of my 1040 tax returns  Not needed, the transcript is sufficient

Copy of W2 forms  Not needed, the transcript is sufficient

Copy of IRS tax transcript

1. Police certification --> Since my spouse is in india, i can't get that certification unless i have interview letter from nvc so my spouse can bring it to interview. (maybe someone from india or anyone who has more knowledge can shed light on this?)  I agree that an India specific answer is needed.

2. I am making slightly more than $40,000 with household of 2. Just to make sure I am >125% income limit? Since I will not be using any sponsor or assets. I do have about 50k-60k in my checking account available to me anytime, but again i don't think i need that either because of my income? can someone confirm that please?  Refer to the most current I-864P and use the figure for your applicable household size (which would be 2 in your case).

Last and all, I look forward to replies as i can't wait to send the package. Thanks a lot everyone.

Original as in original? No...you send copies of every document....You bring original docs to interview.

Hi @

Ryan H

Instead of creating new thread, i just wanted to ask quick few questions.

1. So i sent wrong pcc and got the correct one after a week i sent my package to nvc, I called nvc and they said to mail correct pcc along with letter and document cover sheet, Now I know i will mark "enclosed" for PCC on doc cover sheet, but what about other documents? just leave them blank?

2. also does my spouse need to bring i-864ez to the interview? i did not make copy before sending to nvc and I am freaking out on this one. Should I send another i864ez to nvc and than make copy of that to send to my spouse.

thanks a lot!!!

Just send a copy to your spouse to print if you sent the original to the NVC

One thing to add for future reference.

There's no need to translate documents at NVC level if it's the official language of the embassy you are applying to.

Not entirely true.  For example, Canada has two official languages, English and French, but all French documents must be translated into English.

This is embassy or consulate specific.

that's the problem...i never made copy of the original one that i sent to NVC. Are you saying fill out another i-864 and sign it, than send this one to spouse?

You didn't save a copy on your computer?  Then yes, fill out another one, sign it and just email it to your spouse.

Fair enough.
I was referencing the basic rules for translation, but its always best to check with your personal embassy.
