I am writing this for me and also another K1 Petitioner for Mexico. Both cases are at NVC and we have the receipt numbers. Can someone that has done K1 for Mexico gives a breakdown of how the Juarez Consulate does things from this point out, and also what steps we need to take? Since every Country does things differently, I really want those that dealt with Mexico to respond.

Your guidance will be so helpful to us as I have not seen a post that details things like this.

I'm sure people will have individual stories for you too, but here are a bunch of reviews on the K1 folks with their process at CDJ:

Once your case says "Ready" then you can log onto the ais.usvisa-info site and schedule your biometrics and interview appointment. Keep in mind that it may say "your case is not yet ready to be scheduled" or something like that. DO NOT WAIT to receive an e-mail telling you that you can schedule it - you may never receive that e-mail! You need to be proactive. Then you may (or may not) receive a P4 invitation letter - if you don't receive it, you can just print the letter at the consulate before. This letter has no useful information, though, so no need to worry about getting it ahead of time. Then pretty much just sit tight and get all your papers ready for your appointments. There is a lot of helpful info here too: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ - Ciudad Juarez.pdf

Then you can look at the previous post to figure out how everyone did things in Juarez step-by-step :)

Thank you for your helps.

We are now at "Ready" as of July 5th :) So you are saying we can proceed, despite not receiving anything so from form the Consulate in Juarez?

This would be: first filing out the DS160... then paying... then scheduling the appointments??? Is the only thing we need to proceed is the CDJ number given to me when I called the NVC?

This is all GREATLY appreciated.

So once all of the above is done, we may.... or may not receive the "Invitation letter" from the Consulate?

That email that may never come, is that the 12 page long pdf in English and Spanish that gives links, what to/not to take to the Consulate...and such? What about police reports? How do we know if they need a Federal report? People have to travel to Mexico City for that one, and not every beneficiary needs it. We are already getting the Municipal and State, but going the Mexico City is an added expense we are not prepared for.

Really.... THANK YOU if you can answer all of this. We will be golden to move forward and finish up :):):)
