Hello everyone! I am in the process of removal of conditions. Married to US citizen. I can apply for citizenship in november but wanted to wait, receive 10 year GC, spend 1 month in Brazil, come back, get citizenship.

I've done extensive research months ago that showed green card holders or people with pending immigration processes can have medical and can have unemployment (Esp for shot period)

Now I used an online website that connects me to lawyers recommended on visajourney and a lawyer said It is a risk to have medical or any other government benefit but unemployment is ok. Then another lawyer said nor unemployment not medical is ok

I have been under medical since 2 years (never used tho from fear might be an issue, I just have in case I ever need for emergency.)

I've taken unemployment once for a month and was planning to take for another month since I work as a fragance vendor and most people in my company take unemployment 2 months out of the year when there is no budget.

Are things different now cause of our new president? Or is it still ok to have medical? Is it still ok to take unemployment for short periods of time? I work 40 hours a week and pay taxes and rent and bills for all the other months of the year.

Thank you!

If your husband it's your sponsor( affidavit of support ) , he needs to cover all your expenses while your still have a GC 5 years , or when you become a Us citizen,
