Their marriage is blessed in many forms including of rewarding them with a beautiful and joyful baby girl named Abigail Exodus Haltom which named perfectly represents their love and life story as a family.

The embassy websites are usually pretty helpful. Here are various things you can use:

- voter registration

- current US driver's license

- tax returns (mandatory)

- US bank statement

- quotes from moving companies

- e-mails between real estate agents to show you are looking for property (rent or buy)

- e-mails with local schools showing you intend to enroll your children

Really just anything that shows you are serious about relocating to the US and/or have maintained any ties there. Don't worry if you haven't maintained ties like a driver's license or bank account, just show that you *intend* to do so.

I am the USC, my husband is a UKC. IR-1 via DCF London.

Hi! I am a USC living in the Philippines for almost 20 years. I intend to move to the US with my husband and child and live with my husbands relative. Can you give me an advice on how I can prove domicile? Thank you.

Hi Joana,

Good day.  Thank you for sharing your situation.  Though I just need to make some clarifications here:

1. Are you going to do Direct Consular Filing at US EMBASSY MANILA?

2. Are you the petitioner?

3. Are your child and husband both a US Citizen?

For your inquiry, what I can suggest is to provide a copy of the following documents:

1. Dated US bank statement/ Statement of Bank Account in your name

2. Active US Drivers License (If any)

3. Proof of Letter send to your name in the US address you intended to live (Recent)

4. Invitation Letter from the relatives of your husband that you are welcome to stay in their place

5. Active Insurance

6. Tax Returns (If any)

7. If you have any affiliation from US Schools that you are currently enrolled or about to start schooling

8. A letter or proof of documents with your intention to enroll your child / e-mails with local schools showing you intend to enroll your children

9. Voters ID/ Registration/ Proof of Active Voting participation

10. Active Employment Record/Certificate (If any) /Job Offer

11. Social Security ID

12. Proof of Billing address to your name in the US address/Proof of Tenancy (Dated)

The list of documents above are the sample of black and white proof that you can sort and file to support  your intention to re-established your proof of domicile (if you are the petitioner) but the success of reestablishing your domicile will greatly depend on how you will handle the consular interview and  this is based on our own experience.  Please let us know if this helps.

P.S. But if you aren't the petitioner, I believe there is no need to provide proof of domicile.
