Btw I'd like to also add that it's not just inner-city schools that are crime-ridden and or failing. The few schools in the rural county where I live are appalling and increasingly violent. There's no real choice for people in these little towns.. and no glowing Catholic institution that's even remotely nearby to even voucher the kids to. The largest private school here is pretty exclusive with high tuition and tends to serve the richest families that don't even work in this town, let alone this state - despite that it has had problems aplenty.

The reality is it was the only place my family could afford to get away from the violence and necessity has kept me here for now. They thought things would be quiet and safe here. It only lasted for about five years before reality set in.
