I filed in December 2016 ( N-400), and fingerprints were taken in Jan 2017. I have biometris processing stamp on bio notification, with number and date on it. I have been waiting all these months for the interview. Today I received two letters from USCIS, first one says: our records indicate that we are awaiting for biometrics processing. your case is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your biometrics!!. There is also another Biometrics nortification telling me to go there after two weeks to have the fingerprints taken. I have a lot going on nowadays, and this thing has made me so confused and not sure what to do? The problem is do I need to wait another half year to get called for the interview? please advise.

What field office did you initially go to?

You can call USCIS for clarification but you're likely not going to get any answers that will put your mind at rest.  As others said, just go get it done!  Good luck!

I talked to an immigration officer earlier today and I asked for explanation. She told me it could be a communication problem, or fingerprints were unreadable. But my case is on hold now until they have a new fingerprints set. She told me to go for the new appointment and take the former notification with me and explain to them. This letter I got today is an answer for my call in April asking why my status online didn't change. Good thing I called back then. If I hadn't called, my case would have gone unnoticed.

Like every one said.  Just go for an other fingerprint appointment and ask them there what is going on with your case and how long you would wait for an interview .

i wish you the best of luck !

Hi @npo09800v, Wow, what a pain! At least now you are making progress again and hopefully they will go by your priority date and give you an interview soon after your next set of biometrics. I'm interested in your situation because my husband also filed December 2016 and still has not gotten put in-line. His fingers were very dry when he did biometrics - it took the woman ages to get what she deemed to be a readable set - and I'm wondering now if this could be the actual issue. (I've been thinking that he's been stuck in Name Check but who knows.)

When you originally called in April, did you have to talk to an L2 officer, or how did you go about it? Did they say they would look into it and only got back to you last week? I'm thinking of doing an Infopass just because I'm near an office, and since they took so long to get back to you... So stressful, I just want our case to move forward. Thanks for sharing and please update how things go!
