President Trump on Friday slammed Qatar for being a “high-level” sponsor of terror, ratcheting up tensions in the region even as U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson calls for dialogue to resolve the mounting crisis. A string of Gulf Arab states have severed ties with Qatar and cut off all transportation routes in recent days over claims the country is backing terrorism, an allegation the country has blamed on a cyberattack last month in which it says hackers falsely attributed comments to Qatar’s emir. After taking credit for the Gulf states’ boycott of Qatar earlier this week, Trump on Friday continued his foray into the region’s crisis. “The nation of Qatar unfortunately has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level,” he told reporters at the White House. “So we had a decision to make, do we take the easy road or do we finally take a hard but necessary action. We have to stop the funding of terrorism. I decided ... the time had come to call on Qatar to end its funding,” he said, reiterating that he helped plan the move by Gulf states to cut ties.

This is true the current Qatari Emir is a high level supporter of Islamic Extremism, gives them money and a safe place to stay. It is a widely known fact that he does this even when he was the Crown Prince and his father was Emir. He pretty much said you can do whatever you want Herr but no breaking law and no terrorism here or else.

All the while he has been supporting movements to destabilize other Sunni controlled governments like KSA, Bahrain, and Egypt.

FYI we don't have one base in Qatar, we have 2.

Even though the streets of Doha look more like western streets and the streets of Riyadh look like Taliban or ISIS streets somehow Qatar is sponsoring and exporting extremism?

Countries who practice extremism and intolerance at home now get to point fingers at those who do not and accuse them of supporting it?

No

This is about a country that is bleeding cash, imposing steep austerity onto their people, and terrified about what would happen if say for instance, as in Egypt, a neighbor encouraged some alternative like a move towards democracy.  A democracy move they could buy their way out of in 2010 but definitely and for sure, with half of their cash reserves gone, cannot buy their way out of today.
