So My Wife has no record of any vaccinations because vietnam dosen't keep record of them. At the Medical Exam will they tell her what vaccinations she needs? or should i go before the medical exam and see what vaccines she needs?

Yes they will recommend the vaccinations she needs for US Visa. She will most probably get MMR, DPT, and Influenza. If she has not yet gotten chickenpox (they will test her antibodies for this too), she will need to receive immunization for that as well.

They should then give her a vaccination record together with the immunization worksheet (DS-3025) that she is to bring to the US with her.

Your choice. If you want less visits to the doctor, you can have everything done during the medical exam. But if you think it's cheaper to do the vaccinations with another doctor, then you can do so. They will just require the vaccination record to prove you did get them.

Personally, I did everything during my medical exam.

That is a good question and I hope someone knows the answer.  On the embassy website for Ho Chi Minh CIty there is a separate location listed for the vaccinations.   It would be good to know if the vaccinations can be done during the medical and then not need a separate appointment at a separate location.

My husband went to the vaccination center listed on the Embassay website prior to the medical exam appointment to get his vaccinations. They tested which vaccinations he needed then he brought the vaccination records with him to the medical exam. It was easier to just go to the Embassay recommended vaccination center and get it done beforehand since the medical exam would of been prolonged had he waited until the medical exam for them to pinpoint which vaccinations were needed. Made the medical exam part a smoother process.

That would be quaritine service 40 Nguyen Van Troi Street, Phu Nhuan District, HCMC.? Do you have to schedule a appointment or can you just show up for vaccines?

That is correct. He scheduled an appointment. He wanted to get his vaccinations as close to his medical exam appointment date since the locations were close by and he wanted to make less trips to the city.

Per the CDC , these are the vaccinations that are needed.

What vaccines are required for U.S. immigration?

At this time,* vaccines for these diseases are currently required for U.S. immigration:

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and diphtheria
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Rotavirus
  • Meningococcal disease
  • Varicella
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Seasonal influenza

I will highly recommend getting the vaccinations beforehand because depending on the number of  vaccinations you need, it may take a few trips to the doctor/clinic and get them done.

Given that you dont want any avoidable delays, I would get them done asap.

I didn't have a vaccination record with me but the doctor's office only gave me vaccinations against: Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); diptheria, pertusis, & tetanus (DPT), and Flu :) (3 shots all in all)

My wife also did not have her vaccination records, although she had received all  of them.  She received all the vaccines in the CDC list except for one, as it was not available in her country.

When you go for your medical, they will of course review this in detail and address anything that is missing
