I finally got our NVC case # and IIN today, however the rep told me our case is put into supervisor review. We cannot do any of the online steps until this is done. Has anyone had this experience? Should we abandon all hope or what to do?

Please help, I am so disappointed.

Abandon all hope?!?  Why?  Looking at your time line, it seems that your case is just starting the NVC process.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I don't know why they put us in review. And I've heard it can take a really long time.

Sounds like a misstatement by the rep.  They haven't had time to review your case yet..........just my opinion.

I hope you're right. It didn't make any sense to me either. I'm going to try to call back and clarify.

I imagine the phone staff are so used to saying "supervisor review" because they are so far behind with the workload that they say it in their sleep now! And when people call for other reasons.
