paper filer are taking almost a year from start to finish. Hang in there it'll come!

This is not uncommon. I have friends (married couple) who filed together in September 2017 (one package, so same date, field office, everything). Biometrics were at the same time. The husband had his ceremony in February 2018, the wife has still not had her interview letter.

They are different nationalities, that may make a difference, or it may not.

Im in the same boat! I filed on June 3 & my local office is Newark, but after my biometrics, there is no update whatsoever!!  I need to make an overseas trip in Early June (it will be 1 year since the day I filed)  & I'm really hesitant on booking. I see on here that so many people already got their citizenship & they have applied in June or later!!:crying:

Same here. I'm always hesitant to book a flight due to worrying if they schedule my interview when I'm out of the country. This is really frustrating. I hope we get to receive some good news soon.

Yeah! unfortunately i can't wait. I have set my visa appointment for next week. So i'm going to book my flights now. lets see what happens

My USCIS journey ended on April 13 when I went to my oath ceremony and received my naturalization certificate. Could someone please update my timeline to red font? Thank you!

 

I was there for about 2.5 hours, but the speaking portion with the judge was maybe only 15 minutes. Surprisingly, about 8 people did not show up to collect their certificates! The clerks even called their names out... Must have been some big emergency for those people to miss this very important day, especially after all the months of waiting! I hope all of you still waiting will have your oath ceremony dates soon! All the best.

You might be stuck in namecheck which unfortunately can take 1 year on average

Updated my status. Passed my interview today. Officer was really nice.  Asked me where I was from, and recommended me for approval. I applied under the 3 year rule, but when I applied I was already here for 5 years, so she told me I would be eligible under the 5 year rule . So I didn’t have to submit all the paperwork being under the 3 year rule. She checked my drivers license, green card. 

asked me on the leader of the executive branch, the name of the president, etc. got all 6 questions right . Wrote a sentence in English and had to read one .

was in all a great experience. Now just waiting for the oath letter, and date. End is in sight, and the oath will be in Nashville, and not in Memphis so I wont have to drive 4 hours. 

To to all my fellow visajourners. hang in there.
