All right ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below...

The Open Toed Shoe Pledge

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.

I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go to my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are only $20 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters. (F)

I promise too!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I'm always in bare feet and I love it. For years, I never had my darn socks and shoes off it seems. My feet were horrible! For my 40th birthday, a girlfriend gave me a gift certificate for a pedicure. I almost didn't use it, I was so embarrassed about my feet. I started to have major issues with my feet around this time as well. Anyway, I ended up going for the pedicure. I WILL NEVER LOOK BACK!!! It was THE best thing I could ever have done for myself. I go once a month now. I can walk without pain. My toes nails are so pretty and presentable now! haha I feel GOOD in sandals, and bare feet. I would recommend to ANYONE that doesn't think their feet are "nice enough" to wear sandals, to get to the pedicurist immediately!! They don't judge, just make you feel like a million dollars!

I cant understand why people where flip flops all the time, I find them very uncomfortable and they dont give you any support... I see people here in Boston all wrapped up for winter with hats and gloves and 2 scarves on and flip flops on their feet... crazy if you ask me...

I can't really answer the question as to why people wear flip-flops but I LOVE them. I'm not even sure why. I was always one of those kids who didn't like to wear shoes, so I guess flip-flops are the next best thing. I probably wear them at least 5 days a week. I'm not all about wearing them when it's freezing outside but when it gets warm, throw me some flip-flops. I can't wait to start wearing them again.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

The Open Toed Shoe Pledge

When I first saw this, I thought it said "The Camel Toed Hoe Pledge"

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I have nice shapely legs and nice toes, so I love to show them off. And at my age, I can still.......shake em down. Bring on the summer attire, and let it all hang out.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

You should change your signature to:

"It's better to die with nice shapely legs and nice toes!"
