I had my interview on March 27th, 2017 for K1 Visa at US embassy Islamabad in Pakistan. Everything went fine at the interview. The CO didn't ask for any additional documents but at the end of the interview she told me that our case need further processing. She gave me a 221(g) white slip with box checked in front of Administrative processing and a hand written case number on top. Since then my case status updated once on April 03, 2017. But the Status is the same "Ready". Isn't it suppose to be showing "Administrative Processing". Its now over 6 weeks and there is no movement on the case.

Help please...

Unfortunately, you just need to wait it out. There is no timeline for AP...it could be days, weeks, months, or years. You can check in every so often to see if there are any updates.

You can try requesting a congressional inquiry. You can also contact the embassy to request more information as to where it is in AP (background checks? verification of documents? Is it still with them or was it sent back to NVC?). They won't make it go faster, but maybe they'll provide a little better of an idea where it is. However, embassies do tend to be very generic in their responses unless you ask specific questions. Just asking what's going on or how long it will take will likely get a generic response.

Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. what do you think about waiting till 60 days over as they say in AP cases before doing any specific inquiry regarding the case?

That's reasonable. I wouldn't go overboard with checking in every week, but every few weeks to a month shouldn't hurt.

Our K1 interview was 10/02/18 Alhamdulilah approved, now just waiting on the visa/passport. InshaAllah inshaAllah inshaAllah soon. CO said 2-3 weeks for processing visa, someone said 7-10 days lets see. I swear for my fiancé and I this is the worst part of the entire journey. May Allah SWT help to give us patience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayers to everyone still waiting!!!!!!!!!!
