I have read a few conflicting posts concerning the G325A ... Do I need to have my fiance mail me a signed G325A or can he email it to me to print or can he sign it at the consulate?

When do I need to submit supporting documents? With my original petition or later at the NCV? The USCIS checklist does not include support documents - for finances

My fiance sent me a photo of his intent to marry, it is signed ... Is that acceptable?

I have photos from our visit, but they are not date stamped, but I do have copies of my boarding passes and my passport stamps ... Will that be sufficient?

I am so worried about spending the money and not having all the evidence I need! I just want to get him here and do it right!

It can be mailed or emailed. A "wet" signature has not required on it for for a while now.

For a K-1, nothing will happen at NVC other than them assigning a case number, some prep work, and then sending it to the embassy. They won't accept new documents, and it likely will only be there for days to a couple weeks total. What supporting documents are you referring to exactly? If you mean either the I-134 or supporting evidence for proof of an ongoing relationship, those are for the interview (not the I-129F).

If you're asking if a photo is okay versus a scan, I would think that technically as long as it's legible it should be fine. But why not just scan it? If you're asking if it's okay to email the letter to you to print, then the answer is "yes". That also does not need a "wet" signature.

Photos are secondary evidence of meeting in person once within 2 years. Boarding passes and passport stamps are good to send, but is there anything else to show you actually met within that timeframe? Receipts? Hotel invoices? Documents with both your names on it and a date from your trip? They just need proof that you met in person at least once within the past 2 years...don't overthink it. :)

If you don't provide enough evidence, they will likely just send an RFE and you can submit additional proof. That would delay your process a little so you want to include everything the first time to avoid it, but it's not the end of the world if it happens. Roughly 50% of accepted petitions from Nov/Dec got an RFE.

geowrian Thank you for your reply!

The supporting documents I mean are financial responsibility proof ... I-134 - so, I am understanding that we don't need that until he goes for his interview with the consulate?

I have receipts from restaurants and things like that, but nothing that has both of our names on it ... Just mine

Correct. The I-134 is for the interview. The supporting evidence for it would probably be out of date by the time of the interview anyway. It's not uncommon for people get, change, or lose jobs between I-129F filing and the interview. :)

Is there a way to sync up those receipts (showing where you were at a certain date) with something from her showing she was in the same area?

The G325a is no longer required at all. If you are using the new version, it is incorporated into the i-129f form.

For the I-134 you need to provide proof of income. You submit this at the Embassy interview. This includes:

A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account: (1) Date account opened; (2) Total amount deposited for the past year; and (3) Present balance.

B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing: (1) Date and nature of employment; (2) Salary paid; and (3) Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

C. If self-employed: (1) Copy of last income tax return filed; or (2) Report of commercial rating concern.

D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

I submitted both the statement from my bank and statement from my employer. I had also included my most recent pay stubs and last tax return document as additional proof.

Thank you all for your help!

I don't know about syncing up the time line to show we were together because I paid for everything thinking that would be good enough with photos, but forgot to turn on date stamping 😐

I will just have to look through everything again and see if there is anything. Could we get his attorney to sign something saying we were together in his office? Would that work? I met his attorney while I was there and of course several of his friends and family. Or texts from when we were together?

No problem!

I wouldn't worry about the date stamping, really. Photos are secondary evidence, and anybody could add a timestamp over a photo in seconds nowadays, so I doubt it has much of a bearing on anything :)

You can use a signed affidavit as evidence. I wouldn't rely on that by any means (send whatever else you do have), but every little bit helps. The texts likely won't have any impact...a couple committing fraud (which is what they are looking for) could easily fake some text messages.

Note that I'm by no means saying you don't have enough evidence with what you've presented so far. I've seen cases approved with less. I've also seen some cases get RFEs. i'm just providing suggestions to try to strengthen the case. Don't let it worry you if you don't find anything else to send.
