Berehilina,

In another forum I read a while ago that they requested DNA at the USCIS stage.  I also receive a message that a RFE was sent to me on 10/4/2017 so now I have to wait to see what they are requesting probably also a DNA since my step daughter was also registered late by my husband.

When did you received the notification of the RFE and when did you actually receive it?

In the letter did they include the place to get the DNA test ?

I-130 for my step daughter

4/6 - I-130 sent USPS

4/7- I-130 received at Chicago Lockbox

Why would you not want to comply with a request for evidence? You're looking to get this application denied. The birth certificate would have been your best evidence (aside from DNA) but you presented a "late registered birth certificate". They don't trust theses. They need the DNA test to prove biological relationship between parent and child. There's no other supporting evidence can you provide that will satisfy this request.

Good Luck!

I had not received anything in the mail but checked my case (NOA1 April 27 2017) for my mother today and it now says this. I understand this means it has been approved and sent to the NVC. I was initially a little confused as I'd expected it to say that it had been "approved" first and it didn't (I've checked every day). Anyway, I'm ecstatic and wondering how long I now wait:

Case Was Sent To The Department of State

On October 12, 2017, we sent your case, Receipt Number *****, to the Department of State for visa processing. You can check the status of your case at the National Visa Center after six weeks from the above date by visiting www.nvc.state.gov. You can find general information on Consular Processing by visiting our website at www.uscis.gov .

Welcome !

You are right. I agree with you but the cost for DNA test is too much. I am going to try first with the document and i will wait what they going to say. If they reject it, i will definitely do DNA test.
