Hello!

I have my NVC case #, invoice # and beneficiary # and my K1 petition is in transit to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez.  My question is this: can I fill out the ds-160 and pay for it now or must I wait?  I am just worried my fiancé won't receive her "Packet 3" letter since the mail service in Mexico is no bueno.

Thank you so much.

Technically the beneficiary fills out the DS-160 since it's their visa application and the questions concern them and their travel and background info. I know many petitioners that help out though.. as long as the beneficiary does the submission and signing that it's the truth yadda yadda...

To your question, the ds-160 can be filled out at any time after one has their WAC# from uscis - it stays valid for as long as the information on it is current and correct. A partially finished ds-160 can be retrieved for 30 days (save the number from the start) before a new one has to be created if not submitted.

You can probably not pay til you are allowed to book your interview, but check with someone who's familiar with Juarez consulate.

Hi!!

I am still worried about the same. Our case is at NVC now but I really think I won't get the packet 3, and for what i've been reading from people in this forums is that the best option is to go to CDJ and get the letter printed at their window help.  The thing is you will either finish the whole process while you're there or return home (beneficiary's home in Mexico) and do everything back there and then schedule everything to be done in CDJ. Which ofc means money and time wasted.

In other post I heard people fills out the DS-160 and save it.. Get the letter from CDJ, finish it and schedules medical for the next available day. biometrics the same day in the afternoon and finally the next day the interview.  So it should be a 3 day trip.

To me it would be easier to receive the Packet 3 letter and do biometrics and medical in Mexico city... but since my fiancé and I abbreviated my address in order to make into the forms I highly doubt I'll receive it....  What I wanted to do was to call the Consulate and give them the full address and hope to receive it within the next 3 weeks
