Can someone please help me with these questions?  I'm a US citizen and in a few months i would be asking for my fiance who lives in the Dominican Republic on a K-1 visa, he has 3 outstanding debts that have been turned over to the collection agency will these debts affect in obtaining his visa?  Will his visa be denied?

The beneficiary's credit worthiness or debt has no influence on adjudication of your K1 Visa petition.

 

Unless for some reason his debt became a criminal matter and was on his D.R. police certificate, it should not matter.  Debts and loans are a civil matter, and do not affect immigration decisions.

You're welcome.  If you don't already, I recommend browsing the VJ website on a computer or laptop.  A lot of the information can look jumbled up on a cell phone screen.  Check out the search engine feature for questions you have and also the portals section that has specific information regarding D.R. immigration.

all depend how her debts are. example if she has loan and she is paying that no affect her visa aplication, but if she has a big debts and the debts are on the justice system , she can get impediment to leave the country until she pays.

be sure that she is paying her debts if it is a loan.

also be sure that the debts is true, i am dominican, and it is a shame say this, but many dominicans use the debts as a way to get money from the usc.

may women and men say that they have debts with the only objective to get money from the usc.

almost all the time the usc belive it and start to send money to help to pay the ''debts'', so be carefull and if you will help with the debts be sure that you see papers from the banks or the company

January 11, 2023 oath ceremony, Indianapolis. After that done with uscis😂🤭🤫

I took my oath ceremony in Indianapolis, it was a nice ceremony, where people from 35 coutry become american citizen.

01/11/2023 officially done with uscis :)

January 13, 2023 apply for us passport.( regular service).

March 11, 2023 passport in hand

Both your and his documents will be involved.

You simply can check if you meet requirements for K1 visa.

Referring your question to an immigration lawyer will be the best course of action.

With that being said, I'm sure you've done your research online.  I have not read a single VJ post or article online that stated a beneficiary's bad credit, bankruptcy, or loan collections ever affected their immigration to the US.  The only way I read a debt can affect immigration approval is if the loan or amount owing was caused by fraud or criminal action.  Thus, the debt became a criminal matter, which will be in the foreign fiance's criminal record, and will indeed affect his immigration.

No K1 Visa paperwork I've encountered requested a beneficiary's credit report or collections record.

With that being said, it would be beneficial to have a long discussion with your foreign fiance, discuss the specific nature of his debt, and have a debt consolidation payout in place prior to applying for your K1 Visa.  If he owes a debt, he should pay back what he owes.

If still unsure, referring this question to a lawyer maybe your best option.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
