cr-1 NVC Checklist!

Hi everyone ! Please check your valuable info here regarding the last package needs to be sent to NVC, please providea detailed check list! My  I-864EZ form is ready, I also filled DS-260 online regarding my spouse, Fees are paid also for both forms. Thanks guys

You should have gotten a detailed checklist after you submitted the DS-260 telling you exactly what to submit. Follow the checklist line item by line item and submit it in that order and you will be okay. Someone posted a copy of one in the "NVC March 2017" topic. Good luck.

Thank you VeVe :), I just wanted to confirm again because I remember reading through Visajourney posts and someone mentiond  something about employment letter, paystubs, and bank statements. But not sure what topic was it about.

I have a checklist I used for my personal situation - it's the nvc process checklist in my signature. However, I was the sole sponsor and petitioner, there were no divorces and no adoptions etc .

 

Paychecks and employment verification is optional for those who want to supplement the required tax returns/ transcripts.

Welcome!  I was confused out of my mind when I started so made one and I'm glad others are finding it useful.  Just be aware that phone number options changed slightly and the Case Complete indicators have been changed since they updated their systems in April!

I'm reviewing your checklist right now, tremendous help since we are doing this on our own without any attorney's help. I have a question since you already submitted your DS-260, I didn't know about a DS-261 Form until now, so that needs to be submitted together?. what is DS-261 for? I'm just starting the process waiting for NOA2. Thanks a lot in advance.

Ds 261 is the first form  to be filed with NVC  it is the Choice of Agent form... the information is often given over the phone to the NVC officer as well.. dont worry, when you are able to acces the online NVC process for your case #, you will clearly see directions for this form..

 Most of us have ourselves, the  beneficiary , as the agent... it dictates where notices are mailed to by NVC ... but, if the beneficiary is outside the US,  some choose the petitioner as agent,  so that mail goes to the US adress and is faster... with so much being done online and  with email updates and notifications, this agent choice is no where near as critical as it used to be.. but you still have to do it first!

 Exactly ... I'm Glad I'm not the only one going crazy everytime I discover something new.

I'm getting ready for my NVC part of the process, I'm just at NOA1 stage but getting ready for whats next,  "self educating" on this topics.

Don't worry, I was frantic too since google kept giving me different images of the different forms and document checklists , many of which weren't even in English.

 

It's definitely confusing at first but since you've found visajourney, rest assured that someone will answer your questions. This place was my lifesaver hahaa

 

another thing you can do beforehand is to review all the ds 260 questions beforehand and prepare your answers. Will make filling it out much easier when it's available via the portal.  Hardest part of that for me was getting together al the places my husband has lived since the age of 16 so best to start digging early.
